Neil Nitin Mukesh believes in spending quality time with his loved ones. And if hectic shooting schedules do not permit the actor to spend time with his family, he takes them along with him for outdoor schedules.

Ask Neil about this and he reasons, “I need my family around when I’m shooting outdoors. It makes me feel comfortable. I know it sounds like I am a bore but I am not bothered.

If I don’t get to spend time with them in Mumbai, we can definitely meet up for quality communication abroad.”Speaking from Bangkok where he is shooting for Freeze, Neil says, “My kid brother Naman will be joining me shortly.”
In fact, Neil has made already made plans to groom Naman. Bade bhaiyya wants Naman to learn filmmaking and is also pushing him to lose weight. “My trainer and I will make Naman lose weight. I’ll make sure he works out with me regularly. Men in our family have a tendency to put on weight. I escaped it because I was actively into sports. I love swimming, cricket and tennis,” adds Neil.
Neil, who plays a fashion photographer in Freeze, is paired opposite Bipasha Basu in the film. But what happens when Neil gets a girlfriend? Will he still insist on taking along his family even then? “If and when I do have a girlfriend, she will have to be a part of the family. But chances of finding one seem remote right now,” he says.
After Bangkok, Neil’s next film schedule, (produced by Yash Raj and directed by Kabir Khan) will take him to New York for three months. Interestingly, Neil has no love angle with his leading lady Katrina Kaif in the Yash Raj film.
But Neil is tightlipped about the project. “Let’s just say that all the love for Katrina flows from my side. That’s the story of my life,” he says.

Our favourite cutie, met with an accident on the sets!!!

One minute this way or that way it could’ve proved fatal for the young talented Neil Nitin Mukesh. “Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to move out of the way just in time before the calamity struck,” shudders Neil at the thought of the near-disaster that struck him last week when he wasn’t looking while shooting a dangerous stunt on the roads of Andheri with action director Shyam Kaushal for Jehangir Surti’s Freeze.

Neil plays a photographer on a mission. Recalling the incident in some detail, Neil says, “It was a carefully planned chase sequence on a highway. I was in an auto rickshaw and I was being chased by a skidding car. It was supposed to swerve to the right while my auto was supposed to go the other way. Instead, both the vehicles turned in the same direction.”

To the shock of the entire crew the speeding car hit Neil’s auto rickshaw. “If I didn’t have the quick reflexes and presence of mind to jump out just in time, anything could’ve happened,” Neil shudders.

After leaving an indelible imprint as an actor with his debut film Johnny Gaddaar, Neil Nitin Mukesh is all geared up to follow the footsteps of his grandfather and father by making his debut in singing in Jehagir Surti’s thriller, Freeze.

Sounding modest about his singing abilities, Neil said that he is nowhere close to his grandfather or father but can carry his notes very well. He further added that though he admires the singers in his family a lot, he has been a fan of Kishore Kumar’s style of singing.Neil however, was never in the favour of stepping into professional singing and wanted to create a niche for himself in acting. But despite all the intentional efforts to stay away from singing, he feels destiny has played a big role in bringing him to the recording studios.Freeze which also stars Sophie Chodhry is being made under the banner of Eros Entertainment.

Neil Oh Neil

Neil Nitin Mukesh bought two bikes with his hard earned money. One for him and the other one for his dad’s manager, whome he affectionately calls Rambo.

This is what he has to say, “It was my idea of showing my love and affection for Rambo. It is not an expensive gift but Rambo likes to ride bikes so i decided to give him one of his favourites.”

Rambo, riding, affectionately, my love. Neil, please. If there is a closet nearby, go in and never come out.
