Shekhar Kapur plans to revive 20-year-old project, Time Machine, and ropes in Ranbir Kapoor as the lead. After lying in the cans for more than 20 years, Time Machine, Shekhar Kapur’s prestigious project will finally see the light of day.Originally starring Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Raveena Tandon in lead roles, the film was shelved after the producers ran into financial trouble.
After several rumours about Time Machine going back on the floors, this time Shekhar Kapur has finally picked up the project and has reportedly approached Ranbir Kapoor for the lead role. Adlabs will produce it.Our source says, “Shekhar has been keen on making a film in India for a long time now. He is working on Time Machine’s script with the original writer of the film. He has already spoken to Ranbir Kapoor, and they are now working out the logistics.
The film is likely to go on the floors by next year, depending on the availability dates of the artistes involved in the film.”Shekhar Kapur remained unavailable for comment. Incidentally Harman Baweja’s debut film Love Story 2050 is also based on the subject of a time machine.

UPEN PATEL IN RANBIR AND KATRINA MOVIE

Love triangles formulas have been working in Bollywood for years and now Upen Patel has joined Ranbir-n-Katrina in Raj Kumar Santoshi ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani’. Ranbir Kapoor plays the leading role in the movie and Upen claims that ‘if Ranbir is like Aamir (Khan) in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, I’m like Salman in that film.”
Upen said that when he listened to his role he fell in love with it and the actor confirms that it is not a special appearance as he says “I have forty days of work’ in the movie. Katrina is also one of the reasons why Upen agreed to do the movie as the two are from London and they got along big time. The two had earlier acted in “Namaste London’ but this time Katrina and Upen will be seen romancing in the comedy.
Raj Kumar Santoshi is attempting a comedy after fourteen yeas and his last ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ had left audiences in splits so lets hope the ‘Ajab Prem’ with his ‘Gazab Kahani’ can recreate the humor.

But when we sensed something cooking between Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra, Rani refuted strongly and said that they are only friends.
Now following her trend is Sonam Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor. The duo gelled very well but when they were asked about their relationship, they just lightened it by saying that they are only friends.

RANBIR KAPOOR AND KATRINA KAIF FILMS ON THE FLOOR TODAY

The mahurat shot of Tips Films’ Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was held today at Filmistan Studios.
The film is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Along with Santoshi, the mahurat was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, producer Ramesh Taurani and their respective family members.
The shooting has commenced from today and the film will be shot in a start to finish schedule till November. The film also stars Upen Patel, Darshan Jariwala and Zakhir Khan.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com director Rajkumar Santoshi says, “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a romantic comedy with Ranbir and Katrina as the lead pair in the film.”
Producer Ramesh Taurani adds, “The film will be shot in Bombay, Ooty and Goa. We are in the process of finalizing a foreign location to shoot the songs of the film.”

One of the most anticipated films of this year is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Dilli 6 starring Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. While not much is known about the film or its premise, we came across this interesting picture where director Rakeysh and Sonam share a light moment on the sets of the film.
By sharing a light moment she is telling Raleysh through gritted smile, “I cannot believe i have no endorsements, I lost Ranbir to that Deepika and I only have one movie after Saawariya. How pathethic is my life?”

RANBIR AND KONKONA IN KARAN JOHAR’S NEXT

Saawariya star Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star opposite the twice National awarding winning Konkona Sen Sharma in a film that will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.
This highly unorthodox confluence of a Punjabi heir-apparent and the Bengali bohemian is being directed by Ayaan Mukherjee who’s a cousin of Kajol. Ayaan has assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in Swades and Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Says a source, “It wasn’t so much because Ayaan was Karan’s pal, Kajol’s cousin. It had more to do with Ayaan’s script than anything else that clinched the deal. The minute Karan read it he fell in love with it.” But aren’t Ranbir and Konkona coming together like the synthesis of Venus and Mars? “
That’s exactly the point. In this Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships, the director needed a pair that seems incompatible. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control.” Apparently, when Ranbir and Konkona heard the script, they immediately fell in love with the script. Now all they’ve to do is fall in love with one another on screen.
